The Fareham & Gosport Drug and Alcohol Reference Group (DARG) is a local forum for all agencies delivering services relevant to substance misuse, as established under recommendations of Act of Parliament.

DARG's are the local organisations in England advising Drug and Alcohol Action Teams (DAAT's) and communities in support of the government strategy and co-ordinating work in relation to achieving that strategy.

The Fareham & Gosport DARG assesses local needs and gaps in service provision and advises the Hampshire DAAT accordingly.

It has Plans for both Adult Treatment and Young People.

It also delivers work through creating partnerships between agencies.

 

Members include key personnel from:

• Local Drug & Alcohol Services for Adults (both statutory & voluntary sectors)

• Local Drug & Alcohol Services for Young People (voluntary sector)

• Local Schools

• The Community Safety Partnership

• The Hampshire Youth Service

• The Hampshire Constabulary
